Over 85% of the population say they belong to a particular faith tradition or denomination. Also, less than 20% of that same population actively participates with any particular faith community. The statistics also indicate that over 65% of all existing traditional faith communities have experienced a plateau in their growth or are currently in a state of decline.
Many of our faith communities continued to rely on their history to support their future. Many of our faith communities have become too comfortable in their existing vision and mission or have lost focus on what their vision and mission is in today’s world. Unfortunately, the result is when those who are seeking a spiritual home come to our faith community we as a community are either unaware of, or unable to articulate what our vision and mission is, and how we are living it out.
