Last week we began a discussion of an August 2013 article in Forbes magazine in which Bill Conerly talks to three pitfalls of strategic planning. This is a second entry for Gadd Business Consultants about this article.

Pitfall 2. Not Connecting to Actions.

Conerly describes watching too many strategic planning retreats that produce impressive plans that are never executed on the ground once the managers return to the office. Ken Gadd, founder of Gadd Business Consultants (GBC), has also seen many businesses and organizations fall into that same trap.

Fortunately for Gadd Business Consultant clients, GBC is aware of this potential hazard and works hard to avoid it. It’s often beneficial for businesses and entrepreneurs to have an outside party looking at their efforts and goals to help guide them toward accomplishing the objectives they want to achieve.  To quote Hubert Wiley of Comerica Bank, “He (Gadd) identifies the needs of an organization, develops a plan of action, and then works diligently to ensure the plan’s success.”

Wiley supports the idea of using GBC as the outside party; he went on to say, “Gadd exceeds typical consulting services by contributing significant time and energy to the implementation of strategic and operational plans. It is not unusual for clients to consider him as not only their consultant but also their partner.”

You want to achieve great things. We want you to succeed. Let GBC work through your plan and put your concrete list of actions into motion.
